Wow is all I could say when I finally got my hands on this amazing computer monitor. If you are looking for a high end computer monitor that is huge, bright, and runs amazingly for any application, I can recommend the Samsung 2693HM. I've got it sitting on my desk, running off my 15.4 inch notebook, and the freedom and desk space I now have is amazing (on the monitor. Of course, my real desk is cluttered.)

I've never used a monitor this size before, so I had a lot to think about before I bought it. Do I really need SO much? The Samsung 2693HM 26" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor offers a lot, but I think it's completely worth it. Every single penny of it, I wouldn't trade this monitor back for any of it, plus 1 million more pennies.

The performance of the monitor is wonderful. I can turn off the lights, and the only light bleed I see is if I am watching a widescreen film. Even then, it is so minimal, I had to look close to really have any comment on this. Movies look great by the way. Transformers was the coolest movie I've seen in the theatre, but it looked even better on the Samsung 2693HM. I also tested out some games on it. Pushed my memory and graphics card to the max on my laptop computer with Call of Duty 4 just so I could see what the 2693 had in store for me. I saw no ghosting and no pixelation with its huge 1920 x 1200 resolution.

The only monitors I have seen perform better than anything Samsung has made are the Mac Cinema displays, and those run in the thousands depending on where you live. This Samsung runs at half the price, and is widely available. It really is a great monitor with many options available. If you need HDMI, well its got that port. It even has built in speakers, which run nicely with my notebook speakers. They won't replace real speakers, but its a useful addition if you are in need.

I've looked at 100s of monitors and this is the best one I could find. I'm damn glad I bought the Samsung 2693HM 26" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor.

I recently purchased a samsung syncmaster 2693hm 25.5inch monitor. I love it to death but when booting up my machine the monitor freaks out. I think its related to the buttons on the monitor. One of a few things happen 99% of the time on boot up, the volume will crank itself all the way up, or the special settings for movie or game brightness will rotate through the options until I turn off the monitor. Anyone else have this problem?
